I was relaxing in the Jacuzzi, the hot water splashing over my back, when I heard the phone ring in the kitchen. Wendy answered, but since she did not immediately call for me, I sunk lower in the pool, the jets pounding my body. My head was just above the water when I looked up with Wendy holding the phone out for me. "It's for you...your friend Lucas?" I recognized the voice immediately as I felt a tremor through my body. "Evening Michael. I assume that was Wendy," asked Lucas already knowing the answer. "She sounds sweet." I searched for a response but my silence said it all.
